
| Cut 2 pieces of 3/4" webbing 21"(18") long. Sew on both sides of front as shown. Add small loops made of 3" long pieces of 1/2" webbing (5 on each side spaced 4" apart). Sew the 12" X 3/4" compression straps at the same time. | ![]() |

| Fold the pack in half inside out and sew the side seams with a 3/4" seam allowance. Finish with a flat-fell seam. It gets difficult to sew the flat -fell seam inside the pack but you only need to sew down within 3-1/2" from the bottom. | ![]() |
| With the pack inside out mark the bottom corners as shown to 7". Make sure to line up the center line of the bottom with the side seam (pin it if necessary). | ![]() |
| Mark an 8" radius tangent to the 7" line and the front of the pack. | ![]() |

| Trim to 3/4". Finish the seam by folding each side inward and sew along the edge. | ![]() |
| Hem the top of the pack with a 1" hem. Sew the female half of two side release buckles to a 21" piece of 1" webbing and sew to the top of the pack. | ![]() |
| I use a piece of a corrigated plastic for the frame sheet. It is sometimes called Cor-Plast but it also goes by other names as well. It is light and inexpensive. I lighten it by cutting as shown here. It is a good idea to cover the ends with a little tape to reduce wear. I also use a sheet of 1/4" closed cell foam as padding. | ![]() |

| Turn right sides out, fold seams inward and sew 1-1/2 webbing in place (check your hip size for the length). Sew a seam around the perimeter about 1/4" from the edge. Sew the hip belt adjusters in place. Sew velcro to match the hip belt pocket. | ![]() |
